Energy Efficiency

Track idle load and active-cycle demand for infusion and life-support accessories. A lower-watt device that is duplicated or underused may not reduce total footprint.

Single-use vs reusable

Single-use case: unopened sterile supply can simplify turnover and remove reprocessing variability, while creating recurring material and disposal demand.

Reusable case: validated instruments can lower per-use material demand over repeated cycles, while requiring cleaning labor, inspection, and cycle-capacity evidence.

Reproducible review: observe 30 consecutive high-volume cases; record opening waste, cleaning minutes, autoclave cycle at 121°C or 134°C where the IFU allows, damage, and disposal mass.

CPAP vs BiPAP selection

Neither modality is universally “better.” Indication, titration protocol, mask fit, humidification, and service parts availability determine fit. Terumo advisors separate clinical protocol from commercial packaging so value analysis committees can compare apples to apples.
